The Role

• Normative hyper-regulation. The air transportation will be more and more forced to respect the pressing regulation impositions aimed at assuring the maximum safety of the flight, both in terms of safety and of security.

• Market deregulation: Privatization of the management companies and Liberalization of the ground handling companies. Privatization and liberalization are in fact two realities that are deeply changing the way to make business in the airport sector and of the air transport in general: strongly competitiveness, fragmentation and personalization of the service. The operators and the management companies that will be able to provide themselves with competitive choices of positioning, can win the challenge of a market oriented to the greatest efficiency and quality of the service towards customers today more than ever used to move in a context of a highly deregulated and more and more competitive market.

• Segmentation of the traffic and globalization. As a consequence of the increasing segmentation of the traffic for typology of customers and destination and above all in connection with the rapid process of globalization of the markets, coming from the reinforcement of more systems of alliances, the ground handling operator is called to provide, in effective and efficient way, a product aimed in line with the different requirements of every single customer.

• Growth of the air transportation and planning of the investments to grant the request of the passengers. The air transportation is, today more than ever, the tool of election of the national and international connections, not only for speed reasons, but also because the other means of transport suffer from a traffic congestion and infrastructural obsolescences that can be overcome only with extremely onerous and long-term interventions.

• Reduction in profitability. Drastic reduction of the margins of profitability that must be recovered aiming to a strong operational process of efficiency.

• Optimizations of the Non Aviation revenues. An important tool to guarantee the growth of the business in areas at great profitability using at the most the opportunities and the infrastructures present on the airport sites.

- acting as corporate body of standardization ICT aiming at differentiating the product service through the technological innovation:

• The Technology to satisfy the more and more increasing requirements of Safety & Security without affecting the operational efficiency
• The Technology to raise and check the levels of penetration of the market
• The Technology for the standardization of the organizations and the operational processes aiming to a great and sustainable flexibility of the work force
• The technology to increase the productivity and to optimize the costs through the revision of the operational processes
• The Technology to conquer new slices of market in a scenario of globalization and incentive towards the intermodal freight and passengers transportation

Through a system of NewsLetters some thematic summaries are sent on topical matters of great importance as well as information about commercial opportunities in the ICT made avaible by the community operators and the calendar of the events of sector. All the parties can contribute to the best result of the tool sending demonstrations of interest in particular matters.
- The workshop
By now, the workshop AirportsTogether has become an important appointment for all the actors of the airport Italian industry, allows yearly to face in a logic of opened discussion the themes of great interest and to rationalize some technological trends offering to all the participants the visions of the more titled actors of the information technology.
